Broomfield Place, Freuchie

As discussions have progressed, Lomond Group, together with Kingdom Housing Association and Fife Council Housing Service have embarked upon a partnership working approach to bring together an application for affordable housing needs of the area. However, through community consultation, it emerged that the overriding local concern was that this development might exacerbate the existing flooding problems within Freuchie and the Freuchie Mill. As a result of these concerns a planning application was eventually withdrawn to allow further reassessment. 

In the future we hope to explore with the Community Council, Freuchie Flood Prevention Group, Fife Council and SEPA, if it is possible to create a solution which will provide an improvement to the existing flooding situation in Freuchie. This could be done by implementing flood prevention measure upstream of the village to ensure there is less flooding potential than the existing situation.
