Timber Partnership sets the wood apart from the trees
Lomond Timber Frame hopes to conquer the bespoke housing market after forming a partnership with specialist oak firm, Carpenter Oak & Woodland.
Lomond is a Scottish timber frame manufacturers while Carpenter Oak & Woodland specialises in the provision of high quality green oak portal frames and beams. The alliance will allow both parties to offer a broader range of options to their customers by sharing their expertise and combining their services.
Stuart Rennie, managing director, Lomond Timber Frame, said: "We often receive enquiries for timber frame kits with an element of oak post and beam features included, while Carpenter Oak & Woodland get lots of enquiries where the timber frame forms part of the building envelope.
"By joining forces we now have a solution to these requirements and can offer a 'one-stop shop' for customers and architects alike."
Andy Parker, commercial director of Carpenter Oak & Woodland, added: "In making building components work together the shrinkage and movement of green oak presents new and different challenges. There is now no need for specifiers to concern themselves with the interface between the structural oak and the envelope.
"This alliance allows us to offer a fabulous green oak frame complete with building envelope with all the interfaces expertly resolved by our two technical teams.
"There is symmetry between our respective companies and I believe, through this joint offering, our businesses can really grow and complement one another and our clients."
