Adam Smith College Fife Skills Awards

Thursday the 10th June was a time for celebration and recognition at Adam Smith College as the College held its annual Fife Skills Awards. Over 200 people attended the awards at the College’s Stenton Campus in Glenrothes, which is sponsored by a number of local and national businesses and organisations including Fife Health Board, Raith Rovers and Babcock Rosyth.


Guest speaker was one of the country’s sporting heroes, Gavin Hastings, former Scottish Rugby Captain He gave a very inspirational after dinner speech in which he congratulated the award winners and encouraged them ‘to prepare to win’ in whatever career or pathway they chose next.
In the category of Engineering, Construction and Science Calum McBride, from Markinch, was presented with the newly created Lomond Award. With a proud mother watching on Alan Seath Lomond Group’s Director presented Callum with a trophy and a £100 cheque.


All those involved with the Lomond Group recognise the important role of the educational establishments in Fife. The prospectus of the Adam Smith demonstrates the wide range of courses that are taught within a well established and expanding college infrastructure all of which is essential to developing the workforce of tomorrow and growing a successful Fife economy.
