Scottish Lean Construction Network
In June this year an informal, free to attend Lean discussion network was kick started by the Scottish Construction Centre (SCC) with the support of the Lean Construction Institute.
The core idea of Lean is to maximize customer value while minimising waste. A lean organisation understands customer value and focuses its key processes to continuously increase it. The Lomond Group have become leaner over the last few years. In times when everyone is being asked to do “more with less” we recognise the importance of pursuing and developing the lean approach for the benefit of the company and our customers.
The network, led by Steve Ward SCC Lean Coordinator and Institute Director, provides a forum for debate between different organisations and companies. It meets once a month in the east of Scotland at Dundee University and also in the west at Glasgow Caledonian University.
The Lomond Group and Lomond Homes is represented by Alan Seath and Neil Sellars respectively in recognition of the benefits which can come our way.
