Fife Excellence Partnership Awards

The winners of the Fife Partnership Excellence Awards 2010 were revealed on Friday 25 June at a ceremony celebrating best practice from across Fife’s public, voluntary and education sectors. The evening was hosted by one of the best known faces of Scottish broadcasting, Shereen Nanjiani, accompanied by guest speakers from Scottish business and politics. The event celebrated the excellent work and the contribution that is made in achieving the Fife Partnership vision recognising those that are ambitious, highly skilled, creative, caring and able to take advantage of opportunities.

The Lomond Group was represented by Director Alan Seath judging in the category of Service Innovation and Improvement. Alan along with co-judge Jane O’Donnell (Improvement Service) was given the task of choosing from a total of 9 entrants but both agreed that top of the short-list of 3 was the “Revolution Bus”.

This unique and innovative resource which was initially designed to interact, educate and consult with young people is now enjoying a much wider appeal. The striking exterior of the vehicle invites people to come on board to use the Playstations, Wii, computer, classroom, and private consultation area as well as other facilities as it visits towns and villages throughout Fife.

In the first four months of its use it served to reduce vandalism to public transport across Fife by 55%, twice the Force average, and has reversed a three-year trend and is set to revolutionise community interaction for future years.
