Police Kept Informed of the Planning Law
The Lomond Group kept up its commitment to Scottish Constabularies with the second of its presentations this year, at the Scottish Police College, Tulliallan in early September. Talking on the subject of planning reforms, urban design and designing out crime, Police Architectural Liaison Officers were informed of the changes to the planning system and the ways in which national planning policy and procedure is supposed to work to assist police forces throughout Scotland in their efforts to prevent crime.
In December this year Lomond Group Director, Alan Seath will address a new intake of trainee officers on the same subject. He will introduce a revised format attempting to influence the ways in which the young men and women of the Scottish Police convey the message about the importance of designing out crime; and the need to work in partnership particularly at times when resources are becoming less and less as cut backs in the police forces around the country are planned.
