Everyone’s a Hero!
The Fife Local Heroes Awards ceremony for 2011 hosted by Kingdom FM and presented by STV’s presenter and journalist Stephen Jardine took place on Friday 26th August in the Rothes Halls Glenrothes.
This year there were 13 categories including the Best School won by Woodmill High School in Dunfermline [sponsored by Adam Smith College], Employee of the Year and the Provost's Award for Services to the Community.
The awards recognise that there are hundreds of people and organisations in Fife who dedicate their time to helping others and so often, their efforts go unrecognised. This annual event gives Fifers the opportunity to nominate the deeds and services and bring recognition and reward to people who go the extra mile through these much acclaimed awards. Whether one person helps another person, or improves the life in their town or village or ensures that community groups thrive then it is important that they their efforts and heroics are recognised.

Lomond Group Director Alan Seath was a guest of Fife Council and was joined by other guests from Robert Wiseman Diaries, NHS Fife, Maxwell Bruce, Clinchit and Extant Exhibitions and Print guest. It was a chance for us to meet and get a better understanding of some of the new and some well established businesses around Fife and Scotland.
Entertainment was provided on the night by a host of talent including Scottish band “Cut the Cake” and Britain’s got talent star Edward Reid as well as young stars from the pop and theatre world.
