Regeneration Area Transformed!

Lomond Homes, in partnership with Kingdom Housing Association, completed its latest affordable housing project at Denfield Place, (formerly know as Wright Place, Kirkcaldy) in 2009. The redevelopment involved the demolition of former Council flats as part of an ongoing Estate Regeneration Programme in Fife.

The £3.57 million project resulted in 33 new homes being built as part of a redevelopment project driven by the Fife Housing Association Alliance. The Alliance is a partnership between the four Fife-based Housing Associations, (Glen, Fife, Ore Valley and Kingdom Housing Association’s) and is the preferred development partner of Fife Council and the Scottish Government, for the provision of affordable housing in Fife.

The project was developed in partnership with Fife Council, (which originally owned the land); Kingdom Housing; the local community; and supported by a £2.4m grant provided by the Scottish Government.

Children from the local primary school have also been involved with the project and Lomond Homes organised various events with the school, including: a series of site visits, sessions on construction skills , health and safety, and design. Lomond representatives also worked with the children to design a wall sculpture which has been incorporated as a gateway to the new development.

Grant Ritchie, Managing Director, Lomond Homes Ltd said  “We have been working closely with Kingdom for almost a decade now and over that period we have jointly delivered some excellent projects. This latest development which includes the 3000th house completed by Kingdom Housing Association, is the largest to date and we are extremely happy with the finished product. The success of this project was reinforced with the presentation of an award to Lomond Homes Ltd for the artwork. Lomond group of companies remain committed to the delivery of affordable houses in Fife and elsewhere”

To mark the completion of the project, an open day was held to allow the local community and other partners to view the completed project.
