Objective 1

For the community to have a direct line of contact with the company; to have the ability to raise issues and discuss the potential development of the application site face to face with representatives from the company.

Objective 2

Through the public exhibition and open floor discussion forum the company will develop a greater understanding of the settlement and the community dynamic identifying key issues within the settlement. In return the community will develop a clearer understanding of the development proposals and what these mean in relation to the local plan process and the potential impacts of any development to the wider community environmentally, socially and economically.

Objective 3

Provide as much information as possible relating to key issues raised through objection letters and through public representation to the departure hearing:

  • Flooding (SUDS and overland flow calculations)
  • Access details
  • Traffic Impact
  • Development density/ Indicative capacity
  • Layout and house design
  • Affordable housing
  • Local facilities and amenities
  • Landscape and visual impact

Objective 4

Mediate constructive discussion around the key issues and points raised within the questionnaire and through the exhibition boards.

Objective 5

Collate feedback from the engagement exercise.

Objective 6

Present the feedback back to the community and Council identifying potential areas where suggestions and comments could be taken on board within the development proposals.

Objective 7

Identify areas of the engagement feedback that could be implemented within a detailed planning submission. Discuss and agree main points with the Council/community through the Community Council forum and how these could be achieved through the progression of any detailed application.

Objective 8

Evaluate the productivity of the exercise looking at the level of success of the various elements of the events and the quality and productivity of feedback with a view to making improvements to any future community engagement exercises.
