Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a concept whereby companies integrate social and environmental concerns in their business operation and in their interaction with their stakeholders on a voluntary basis. It is about going beyond minimum legal requirements and obligations in order to address society’s needs, and through these actions it is possible to help reconcile wider economic, social and environmental ambitions.
The European Union has called on the business community to publicly demonstrate its commitment to sustainable development, economic growth, more and better jobs, and to step up its commitment to CSR.
CSR is fundamentally about voluntary business behaviour. At Lomond we believe that the fundamental principles of CSR are well aligned with the way we operate our family run business. However we recognise that we must build on what we have already achieved by formalising our CSR activities and seeking to continually learn from best practices elsewhere. We will work towards a more formal CSR Policy to ensure that we are answering the call of the EU and fulfilling our responsibility to society.
