The Influence of Politics

Politics is never far away from almost everything we do in life. The Lomond Group recognises the importance of being aware of, and understanding, these influences, which determine the outcome of many aspects of business.

That understanding has led to an engagement across the political parties in an attempt to be guided in all that we do. Working cross-party has given us a better understanding of the political map and allowed us to develop meaningful dialogue with politicians at all levels. Their advice and guidance has been invaluable to the Lomond Group and to the construction industry generally, particularly in these times of recession.

The recent publication of the document ‘Scotland’s Planning System – Report on the Consultation with the Construction Industry’ on Scotland’s Planning System, by Lomond Group Director, Alan Seath (co-author), raised the profile of issues relevant to planning and construction.
